Construction and hand-feel

Construction varies by diameter: our 4 mm rope is built with 16 strands, our 6 and 8 mm ropes use a 32-strand sheath around a braided core, and our 10 mm rope steps up to 48 strands. The result across the range is a flexible rope with a smooth hand-feel and a luxury appearance, comparable to Paracord Type V.

How rPET compares to PPM

Polyester yarns and ropes score higher on abrasion and UV resistance than PPM (polypropylene), though polyester is also heavier for the same diameter. rPET keeps that same profile: very strong, little to no stretch, retains its strength when wet, a high melting point, and resistant to mildew and rot. If weight matters more than abrasion resistance for your project, our PPM rope range may be the better fit.

Why recycled polyester

rPET yarn gives already-produced plastic a new life instead of adding more virgin material into circulation, and fits with the EU's move toward stricter carbon footprint requirements. It won't undo the fact that the plastic already exists, but reusing it is a step in the right direction for anyone who wants the performance of polyester with a lower environmental footprint.
